Ubuntu 8.04 on an Intel Quad Core

I'm writing this post using Mozilla 3.0b5 on a 64-bit Ubuntu 8.04 that's running on an Intel Q6600 quad-core processor. Yup, that's right: spanking new browser on a spanking new operating system on a spanking new computer.

After close to six years of hobbling along on an AMD Duron, I've decided it was time for a change. What better time than to coincide it with the new release of Ubuntu LTS?

Here are the full specs of my new machine:

The reason I got this baby is to run virtualized operating systems. Not exactly at the bleeding edge, but quite adequate for my needs. The sweet thing is that it only cost me under P22,000.

More updates in the days to follow.
